Standard 18 Arm Sputnik Lamp

This Chandelier is inspired by the popular 1950's sputnik lamp design. With its unique space-age design and a price that's out of this world, it's a wonderful addition to any retro or mod environment. Our chrome-plated Sputnik Chandelier has 18 arms. This Sputnik measures out to 24" across, without bulbs (candelabra base) at its widest points and hangs 15" at its lowest point. This sputnik lamp uses 25 watt bulbs, which can be used with a dimmer (sold separately). Custom Sputnik chandeliers in all sizes are available. Please Contact us with any questions.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Fixture!

I just renovated a Mid-Century modern home and put this fixture in chrome in the dining area. It is gorgeous and was easy to install. I will definitely buy one for the next house too! It makes the room! I purchased the half-silver bulbs too, and they are really imperative, in my view.

ProsGorgeous Lots of bright Light Very modern Smaller scale for smaller spaces, where you don't want a large light hanging way down.

We ordered this with the 9-inch rod, since we have standard height ceilings and tall men in the family. It was nice to learn that our fixture was custom made in the USA! The chrome metalwork is excellent, with no dings, scratches, or burrs. Installation for our DIYer was quick and easy. It was fully assembled out of the box and simple to thread on the wire. My husband tacked a cardboard box to a 2x2 clamped to his ladder, and rested the bottom of the fixture in the box to hold it near the ceiling while he wired it. If you have a sloped ceiling you will appreciate the gimballed fitting on the rod. We are using clear 25 watt round bulbs as our dining room has dark walls and the white bulbs we tried reduced light output. Inmod was able to get this to us in time for our Christmas party, despite being swamped with orders--we appreciate your extra efforts for us.

ProsEasy to install, pre-assembled, lots of light, suitable for standard height ceilings, excellent quality, helpful customer service. This fixture gets a lot of admiring compliments from our friends.

Are the satin brass and chrome finish painted?

Our sputniks are not painted. They go through a metal plating process for the finish.

Is it possible to get a shorter rod length than the 9" (want to install in a room with a very low ceiling) and, if so, what's the shortest rod length available?

The fixture comes standard with a 9 inch drop rod which includes the canopy. The shortest we can do is a 6 inch drop rod which includes the canopy.

If selected as an add on to my purchase, is the 24" rod length ADDED to the 9" rod length (creating a total of 33" in rod length), or do you get the 24" drop rod INSTEAD of the 9" rod? I need to verify this before purchasing. Thanks!

Thank you for your interest in the Standard 18 Arm Sputnik Lamp from Inmod! The 24" rod length and 9" rod length are two separate configurations for this product, not an additional extension. If you're looking for a longer rod length you can select the "Custom" option and order the Standard 18 Arm Sputnik Lamp with a customized drop rod or chain length. To determine your desired custom hanging height of a Sputnik Lamp it's suggested that you measure the distance from the floor to the lowest point at which you'd want the Sputnik Lamp to hang. From there our customer service team will be able to work with you in determining the perfect rod / chain length for your Standard 18 Arm Sputnik Lamp.
