Frank Lloyd Wright Heurtley Ottoman
Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) was America's pioneer of modern architecture, whose influence on European modernists and generations of US architects has been incalculable. He broke with Victorian tradition about 1900 to create the Prairie Style, the origin of millions of modern American house designs. He brought Organic Architecture to fruition in the 1920s-30s, basing structures on natural forms and producing buildings -- like "Fallingwater" in Pennsylvania and the Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan -- that are at one with their outdoor environments. A brilliant designer of furniture, textiles, stained glass, and interior detail, he always presented his clients with a completely integrated concept, from the building itself right through to the light fixtures and the rug patterns.
Copeland Furniture is the exclusive licensee of Wright's furniture designs. Each piece of Frank Lloyd Wright® Furniture by Copeland is named after the house for which he designed it, and bears Wright’s signature, date of manufacture, and a unique serial number.
The natural companion to the Frank Lloyd Wright Heurtley Spindle Back Chair, the Frank Lloyd Wright Heurtley Ottoman is a perfectly proportioned modern ottoman, and like many Wright designs shows clearly its creator's admiration for Japanese design. It's a simple, graceful, comfortable, sophisticated piece for any living space, and built to last in solid hardwood. Like its matching chair, its seat cushion is available in either fabric or leather, in the same range of many handsome colors.
