Made by assembling
around a steel circle a number of bent and painted steel foils to form
a particularly soft light diffuser. Sinuous and appealing, it combines
the principles of a clear and minimal design with the timeless force of
dreams and poetry.
In the seventies,
about 40,000 Medusa lamps were sold. The light designed by Austrian designer,
Olaf Von Bohr quickly became a commercial success, but above all it became
an object that managed to interpret and direct the taste of a world that
was discovering design in that very period. Sensual and allusive, during
the course of the years Medusa has passed through fashions, habits and
events. Huge changes that did not however mar the appeal of a clear and
minimalist design, that managed to retain its content of dreams and joy.
Medusa is being released again by Valenti in a limited and numbered edition
of 200 numbered pieces and guaranteed by a certificate of authenticity.
